What format do i have to convert an avi. movie file to put on my Samsung MP3 Player?

Question

So im trying to put a movie onto my Samsung MP3 player and it wont let me drag a avi. movie file. So need to know what format i have to convert it to to get it on my player? Iv got "Samsung Media Studio" but it would only let me drag a mp4 file (I just happened to use a program and converted it to mp4 on the whim it would take that). So it seems to be "transfering" to my player now but isn't saying "transfering" on my MP3 player. So I need to know what format to convert my avi file to and what program will do the trick? Please someone I've been working on this for 2 days! I read somewhere it needs to be a svi. file but never heard of that! My email is [e-mail]

You need a converter to help you, because most of movies/videos formats are not play on mp3 player directly. I downloaded Cucusoft Ultimate Video Converter to help me at
