Can anyone tell me what 16:9 is? Like something X something.

Here's my info for the DVD I'm burning and I just want to make sure I don't burn in the wrong format:

Resolution: 720 x 320

Format: Anamorphic Widescreen ( Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1 )

Would I burn the DVD in 16:9 (widescreen) format or would I burn it in 4:3 (fullscreen) format? Thanks!

  1. It is a ratio... the first number relates to the horizontal pixel rows to the vertical pixel rows

16:9 is widescreen so if you have a wide screen tv you'll have a full picture when you go to watch it if you adjust the settings. If you have an older tv it would have a "letterbox" grid on it with two black boxes on the top and bottom with the movie in the center.

4:3 is the old standard for full screen so it comes down to your preference and what you will be watching it on.
