Create the feeling of sadness through sight imagery. Use Giovanni's poem as a model.

Backing out the driveway

the car lights cast an eerie glow

in the morning fog centering

on movement in the rain slick street

  1. Heart broken through

The veins captive in a prison

    Cell of friendship lost

In the map of her brain

I don't know if that was correct. Horrid at writing.

  2. A familiar voice out of the darkness

beckoned to me a kindred spirit

    of familiarity.. A howling heart

    oneness of mind, our eternal

    friendship intertwined.

Like identical souls separated at the heart

    at birth

I feel what you feel, & validate your worth.

Your broken heart is mine too,

but this time it really is the same thing

    we are both going through.

weak at the knees and shallow of breath

sometimes you smile when what you now

    dream is of death.

Mind if I kneel by your side awhile,

I warn you, I doubt if I'll ever smile.

But for some reason you are always here for me,

and I pray that's the way it will always be,

    my friend.

SORRY I GOT CARRIED AWAY there. but maybe you can shorten it...

    okay I fixed it...

a voice out of the fog

a familiar heart out of hope

    sight unseen but deeply felt

as by your side I knelt.

    hmmm

  3. walking through the garden

sunset shadows drape the rosebushes in blue

the fountain weeps for moments that have passed

leaving me to mourn  the love I lost today.

  4. You didn't indicate why the friend is heartbroken.

    We shall miss them,

as we miss a bright summer’s day

in the midst of a winter’s gloom.

    But our hearts will remember.
