You don't give any particulars.  Assuming you have WinXP, why not use Windows Firewall.  It is located in the Control Panel.  Open the Control Panel, open Firewall, and turn it on.

Okay...seeing that ZoneAlarm is the best, but you can't use it (haha...), I suggest you use one of the two listed below:

Comodo Firewall - quite powerful, but somewhat very difficult to use http://www.download.com/Comodo-Firewall-...

PC Tools Firewall Plus - quite adequate and somewhat easy to use http://www.pctools.com/firewall/

Or you can purchase an Internet Security Suite, but I'm pretty sure that's a waste of money.
