Most American carriers won't give you anything for free anymore and definitely not free model airplanes. I do notice that many airlines do sell die-cast model airplanes in their in-flight magazine these days, but they usually cost around $25-40, depending on the model. Many international carriers will have cards available, but on a domestic flight, don't expect anything for free except for the in-flight magazine.
