Who's coming up in the ranks of Atlantic series etc..?

NASCAR nation(not all but most) are just making me ill these days. At least I don't need to worry about my nephews getting hit with beer cans at St Pete and Homestead.

  1. T-bone, I'm with you 100% some of that nascar section has made me ill also.. I was wondering the other day about what up and coming drivers who might be coming to IRL, I'd love to see Arie Jr out there his dad was great..I'm gonna have to start doing some research, the Atlantic series doesn't any attention on TV..

    Go Helio

  2. Let me at least give you the web site to the Firestone Indy Lights series, which is the developmental series for the Indy Racing League (see link).  There, you will find several drivers that may be worth watching.

Also, if you're looking for perhaps a younger driver to perhaps keep your eyes on in the IndyCar series itself (outside of Ganassi, Penske, & AGR), I could recommend a few (no particular order):  E.J. Viso, Jaime Camara, Townsend Bell, Mario Moraes, Will Power, Hideki Mutoh, and (eventually) Alex Lloyd.  There really is some very talented young guns in the ICS that have shown they belong with the big boys, and should be around for a long time.

  3. The merger between Champ Car and the IRL removed CCWS sanctioning from the Formula Atlantics.  Although they recently replaced that with IMSA sanctioning, I would say the first place to look would be the IRL sanctioned Indy Lights Series.  To date, their top ten points in driver's points are:

    1   Richard Antinucci   307   Leader

    2 Raphael Matos 280 -27

    3 Dillon Battistini 265 -42

    4 Arie Luyendyk Jr. 238 -69

    5 J.R. Hildebrand 235 -72

    6 Ana Beatriz 234 -73

    7 Jeff Simmons 226 -81

    8 Logan Gomez 199 -108

    9 Brent Sherman 186 -121

    10 Pablo Donoso 184 -123

Luyendyk Jr and Simmons have already raced in the ICS and Donoso conditionally earned his ICS license in early March of this year.
