What fruits and veggies does algae eater eat?

i'm soon getting algae eater and i know what kind of fruit and vegitables my gold fish eats, but i don't know about algae eaters. also, when i feed my algae eater algae chips, i'm afraid that 3 of my goldfishes who LOVES to eat will eat the chip and algae eater won't get to eat it and starve.. and should i buy one algae eater or 2..? i don't think algae eater is gonna get lonely because there is 3 shubunkin goldfishes in my tank... i was told that feed algae eater the algae chips every 3 days but is this right..?

Mine LOVES zucchini.  I cut it on a bias cut (to open up more of the flesh for him), and if the seeds are large, I pick them out (otherwise I just leave them in there).  The tank size depends on how many you should get.  I have a 10 gallon, and have just one Pleco.  I think Pleco's are good up to 20 gallons or so.

Note: if you feed a lot of fresh foods, it tends to turn the filter scummy faster
