  1. Depending on where you live you may still have time to try strawberries. Summer is a hot and stress full time to plant a fruit tree. Especially in Southern California, where I am. In Fall they begin selling bare root here: berry bushes and vines. Maybe you can ask at the local garden shop what you could begin planting in Fall.
