Question:

What fuel does my outboard engine use?

hey everyone, just wnat to thank everyone for help me repair my outboard motor, its a mercury thunderbolt from the late 70's,

all i need to know now is what kind of gas it uses , Leaded or UnLeaded and the best gas to oil ratio that wont harm the engine,

  1. Just plain old unleaded


  2. There is no leaded fuel> So use mid range> 50 to 1 oil

    tcw3 oil

  3. 87 octane gasoline. If it has an oil reservoir, fill that with TCW3 certified oil.   If it doesn't have an oil reservoir, add oil to the fuel in a 50:1 fuel to oil ratio.  1 pint oil per six gallons of gas. (1/3 cup per gallon).
