  1. Regular is fine. Anything over 87 would be a waste of money.  I had a 78 CB750SS. Good bike. I put 50,000 miles on it the first year.


  2. Try running regular, If you have no pinging its OK

    If you have pinging bump up to 87 oct.

    And try to run ethanol free fuel.

  3. It may not be necessary but I have always used the highest grade available.  I prefer Sunoco and Shell (low ethanol content) and refuse to use BP due to driveability problems that I have experienced.  I know what kind of damage is caused by preignition (knock/ping) and air-cooled engines are more susceptible to it when stuck in traffic.

  4. the manual should say 87 octane
