  1. It depends on where you go. I've been there twice, and I would say that if you stay towards the Eastern side, you'll have more things to do than just  nightclubs and beaches because Nice and Monaco have museums and Monaco has lots of sightseeing that can be done. I can't tell you what you can do in Nice because I didn't spend much time there, but in Monaco there's a ton of things you can do. I've been to the museum and walked all around the cities/country (Monaco is very small but packed with things to see and do). The Vieille Ville in Monaco is where the Royal Palace is located, they have spectacular views of the harbor and nice places to eat. There's also lots of shopping to be done, if you have the money for that. In Monte-Carlo you can go to the Casino and either play or just people-watch, but just be warned that it costs money just to go inside and you need to dress formally. Monaco also has a zoo, gardens, and many other things to visit and see. I suggest staying somewhere else (I usually stay in a tiny town called Cap d'Ail right next door) and taking the train into Monaco. It only costs around 3 or 4 euro roundtrip. Once you're in the station they have easily accessible tourist information booths and they give you maps and discount books for free.
