I am starting babysitting tomorrow and i need some ideas about how to keep children entertained. I will be looking after a set of 18 month twins (boy and girl) and one six/seven year old.

  1. Well, when I'm babysitting, I usually walk the kids down to a park or someplace like that. That keeps them entertained for quite a while.

I know that every place doesn't have a park near it, so when I'm watching kids who are farther from one, I usually get out the crayola fingerpaints (washable of course. God forbid the parents came home to giant stains on everything). Every kid loves finger painting. You can't go wrong with that :)

  2. donot take 4 kids to the park by yourself, are you kidding me ?

coloring books, puzzles, dolls, cars whatever YOU did when you were 6 and 7yrs old

  3. Coloring is always good. You don't even need coloring books. Take a paper sack apart at the seams and flatten it and make a mural. Go outside and draw on the sidewalk with chalk. Do body outlines and then draw in the details. Blow bubbles. Sing songs. Make a tent with a blanket over a table or chairs. And reading to them in an animated voice is great. They'll love ya and will ask for you to be their sitter if you play with them rather than stick them in front of the t.v. Have fun!

  4. It's summer where we are so this is a great time to "water paint". Cheap Dollar Tree paint brushes of different sizes and a bucket of water is all you need. Dip the bushes into the bucket and they can "paint" on any flat smooth surface like a patio, concrete floor or the walls outside. Easy clean up!
