What games did you play in primary school?

I'm relief (substitute) teaching for the first time tomorrow at a local primary (elementary) school.

This is the first time I've taught since finishing uni so I'm a little nervous (but excited too).

Anyway, I won't what grade I'm teaching until I get there, or how much planning the classroom teacher has done for the day. I could be teaching from kinder/transitional/prep - 6.

Do you know any games that can be played in the classroom? If you do, can you please tell me how to play them, and what age group they're suitable for. You might know them from when you were at school, your own children, or you might be a teacher too!

  1. I always enjoyed it when the teachers played softball. Just get a really soft ball, have students throw it back and forth, and if they miss (or the thrower makes a really bad throw) they sit down until next game. For older kids (grades 5 and 6) when the game goes on for a while, have them do things like catch with one hand, throw with elbows, etc.

    ^^

  2. doctor warball for 4-6 graders or even a little younger great and never gets old dodge ball witha doctor to get people back in the game sit where they are hit ad if they hit the doctor no one can replace him/her

kick ball any grade also baseball with plastic bat and whiffel ball any grade
