  1. Carbon Dioxide (CO2)

    Carbon Monoxide(CO)

  2. water vapor, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides,

  3. CH4

    Methane.

The abundance of methane in the Earth's atmosphere in 1998 was 1745 parts per billion, up from 700 ppb in 1750. In the same time period, CO2 increased from 278 to 365 parts per million. The radiative forcing effect due to this increase in methane abundance is about one-third of that of the CO2 increase.[2] In addition, there is a large, but unknown, amount of methane in methane clathrates in the ocean floors. The Earth's crust contains huge amounts of methane. Large amounts of methane are produced anaerobically by methanogenesis. Other sources include mud volcanoes which are connected with deep geological faults.

One Moose Creates More Greenhouse Gas Annually Than 13,000 km of Car Travel

Norway: Researchers at the technical university in Trondheim have discovered that the moose, the country's national symbol, is a major contributor to greenhouse emissions. Annually, one moose produces greenhouse gas equal to 13,000 km of car travel.

Lower snowfalls in Norway have altered the food available to the animals and as a result they produce more wind and the population is growing. Requests have been made for an increase in hunting quotas to keep emissions under control.

"To put it into perspective, the return flight from Oslo to Santiago in Chile leaves a carbon footprint of 880 kilos. Shoot a moose and you have saved the equivalent of two long-haul flights," said biologist Reidar Andersen.

  5. i don't think cars  give off methane. They give off gases such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen monoxide

  6. Gasoline is a mixture of hydrocarbons (hydrogen + carbon) and when it is burned with oxygen from the air it produces H20, CO2 and CO.  the high temperature of combustion may also combine some of the nitrogen in the air with oxygen to form NOxs (nitrogen oxides).  When a gallon of gasoline burns it produces almost a gallon of water (as steam vapor) which can be seen issuing from exhaust pipes on very cold days.  Nitrogen oxides in the presence of sunlight may produce ground-level ozone which is an irritant.

  7. Hydrocarbons (HC) -- unburnt fuel

    Carbon dioxide (CO2)

    Carbon monoxide (CO)

    Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

    Particulate matter (PM)

    Formaldehyde (HCHO)

    Non-methane organic gases (NMOG)

    Non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC)

    Water vapor (H2O)

    And others

    Plus oxygen and nitrogen naturally
