  1. Hi Roxanne, same as I said to another person asking about subjects for certain careers, the best person to advise you is the careers master at the school.

They should know what qualifications, and at what levels, are required. They will be able to discuss all this, and hopefully answer any other questions you have,

    Good luck,

    Mike t.

  2. have a look here

    www.tda.gov.uk/recruit.aspx

  3. English, maths and science GCSE grades c or above essential.  English lang and lit at A level with options like media studies and creative writing.  Psychology is also a good one to have, as well and child care for the education aspect.

  4. A+

  5. Well, you have to take English Literature and English Language, but you might also want to take Drama and Media studies, as these often fall under the same subject heading when teaching, particularly at KS3 and below. English teachers with the ability to teach Drama are much more in demand at the moment, and as there is no longer a shortage of teachers this has to be a good move to make.

The other thing to bear in mind is that there is more to being a good teacher than the subjects you took at school - you should be well read, so join a library and get reading! Also make sure you have a good understanding of current affairs and history - to understand and interpret literary works by others you must have a sense of the context in which they were written, so try regularly reading a  newspaper (broad sheets rather than tabloids) if you dont already.

So, in short I would say English Lit & English Language, Drama, Media studies and History would all be really good choices.

    Hope that helps.

  6. you will need to do english language and literature i am assuming. after that, you will have to do your teacher training and they would probable ask you for a grade a-c in those subjects.
