  1. Peru unlike other South American countries, is not famous for a particular gemstone. Colombia is famous for the Emerald, Chile is famous for Lapislazuli (only found elsewere in Egypt), Brasil has many gemstones (Topaz, Amethyst, etc).

    Even if Peru is no famous for it, there's a lot of Turqoise and Coral going on since pre-inka times
