What gender is my budgie, cere is pink??

Question

i know that blueish ceres on parakeets says its a boy, and a tannish color cere says its a girl, and when the budgie is a baby, the cere is pink. well, i have 2 five month old budgies, one boy and one girl (they are siblings) but then, i have another budgie that is not related to the other two, and is about a year old, and its cere is STILL pink, what does this mean? is it a boy or a girl? or is it just late developing?

It is most likely a female, even though some males can have pink ceres. Pink to white to tan is for the females, and purple to blue is for males. Just remember females have more white to their cere than the males.

Typically when budgies are ready to mate, the male's cere will become a deep blue and the hen's will become a dark crusty brown. The color of the budgie itself may effect the color of the cere too, so keep that in mind. Unless you plan to breed them, gender isn't really important. They're enjoyable either way :)

pink can be ify with young ones   mature ones are easier to tell, light blue, blue, dark purple is all male   tan brown and dark brown is female  check out http://www.parrotcentral.net/parakeets.h... for more info on parakeets

A pink cere means it is a female. Females ceres can range from light tan to purple.

If it is still pink then it's a girl.  Colors range in budgies but females have light colors.  Boys always have darker colors.

If it's a solid pink all the way over, then it's a boy.  A lighter pink with white around the nostrils would indicate a girl.  That's really how it works (unless nobody at http://www.tailfeathersnetwork.com/commu... knows how to s*x budgies); budgie ceres aren't limited to one color for each gender.  One of my dudes has magenta and the other has purple.
