What genes am I more likely to get, dominate or recessive?

I have blond straight hair with green eyes. I am ambidextrous but prefer my left hand...dad had Brown/brown mom had blond/green....is it more common to get recessive genes than dominate?

  1. It is a toss up.  You get your autosomal DNA 50-50 from both parents coming down from all your ancestors.  It determines your pigmentation, hair  eye color, bone structure, height.  Since you don't have brown eyes like your father, he probably carried recessive blue or green eyed genes.  

    Actually, there are things about your appearance that could have gone back to your grandparents and skipped your parents.

    I might mention that genetics and genealogy are not the same thing.  In genealogy we trace ancestors with records, documents.  You might get a lot more answers if you go under Science and Mathematics and then Biology.
