What genrally makes up a nicaraguan breakfast?

I'm doing a report on Nicaragua and I desperately need information like this?

  1. Gallo Pinto is the most common breakfast food.  It's dark red beans and rice.  It has a lot of garlic in it too.  They also will eat fried eggs and various fruits.  I haven't seen them actually eat plantains for breakfast.

They eat "Gallo Pinto" (which I think means speckled rooster) for breakfast.  It's basically just rice and beans, but has some nice flavors in it.  Also, there are these little slices of plantain that are fried, then flattened, and then fried again.  Sometimes they have eggs or various fruit if it's in season.  The cuisine tends to be fairly bland for my tastes.  It's nothing like Mexican food at all, to give you a comparison.  There are very few spicy foods and everything seemed under-seasoned to me.  Good luck!
