I need to know, I can't find its genre anywhere. I looked on/in the book, on the Cliff Notes Website. It doesn't state its genre ANYWHERE! I have read this book a couple times already and have seen the movie, but when I had to read it this time it was for the summer AP reading list. thanks.

  1. Bildugsroman, i.e. coming-of-age story

    or possibly Southern Gothic?

  2. Bildungsroman

    Morality Tale

Courtroom Drama / Legal Thriller / Crime Fiction

    Southern Gothic

Semi-autobiographical Fiction (though Harper Lee denied this)

  3. i would say something like historical fiction

    or a classic

  4. It would be considered realistic fiction. Tom Robinson's trial was heavily based on the Scottsboro boy's trial but it was all made up, although something like that could have potentially happened. If that all made sense.

  5. A Coming-of-Age novel

  6. It's Mainstream.  (Though now, you could consider it Historical, too.)

  7. It would most likely fall under drama.  I'm pretty sure I've read it somewhere.
