I dont recommend giving a gift on a first date.  Save it for the third date.  Pay attention to likes and dislikes during the first two dates...kind of flowers liked...hobbies...etc.  Then it will appear thoughful and don't go overboard...unless you are a millionaire and are absolutely gorgeous.  then do what you want.

O.K. fine, i am from Delhi and i tell what delhi girlz want.. They want something which looks shinny and attractive (gold, diamond) or if you are not looking at something in this range then you should try choclates or flowers or if she is a sweet girl then how about teddy bear.. Actually the whole thing is that first you should see what kind of person it is... Like at my last date i gave her a teddy bear and she loved it, she was a sweet girl and she loved... soo best of luck dude..

Flowers are always good but not if she has to carry them around all night!  Maybe stop and buy her a rose while you're taking her home after the date, if it went well.  That's romantic.
