What gift should I buy for my friend?

We've been BFFs since 1st grade (amazing how time flies, isnt it?)

But...I don't know what to get her.

I wish I were sure she would like anything I got her, but lately...she's been kind of critical of me and trying to put it gently.

Anyway, I was thinking something in the range of $25-$50 so that it's pretty nice but she won't feel awkward trying to return it. I don't expect her to, but you know how ettiquette is.

Jewelry? Gift card? She collects elephants...

  1. Arrange a day to have your nails and a pedicure and go to a lunch together.

It may be a little more but good fun together.

  2. What is this for, her birthday? If so, get her a nice birthday card and a gift card to a place she loves, like a restaurant or store. If you know of something specific she might like, such as jewelry, you could throw that in too.

Since you say she's often critical, don't put yourself out too much. It would suck if you put a lot of time into a gift and she's rude about it. For that reason, gift cards are always good.

  3. If a person was critical of me, good friend or not, I would not be buying her a gift.

  4. Gift for what?

If you guys are still BFF's, and plan on remaining so, then give her something in the same price range as you'd expect, but that doesn't exceed your budget.

I don't like gift cards for close friends.  They are just too thoughtless.
