What gives life to a cell?

i think that when you die your cells die, but whats the difference between living cells and death cells?, i mean what is life anyways?

Allah gave life to us...I do not know what is the difference between living cells and death cells...Nothing is random in this life.Allah knows all the knowledge of cosmos.

Life is a series of chemical reactions.  A living cell metabolizes.  It breaks down chemicals to harvest the energy from their bonds and uses it to perform other chemical reactions like protein synthesis.  Dead cells don't do this.

When the cell is in equilibrium with the environment, the cell is dead. Life requires an input of energy.
