Referring most specifically to Physical Education. No, you don't have to side with my obvious opinion that they don't have the right, to get the 10 points. I'm looking for something to back up that they do or don't have the right.

My opinion is that the district/ state is taking too big of a role in my life by making me exercise. I'd be fine if we learned about different sports, nutrition..... that stuff is useful for later life, but that isn't what you learn in PE, you learn that in some Health class. What give states the right to take that big of a role in my life (making sure I'm healthy?

(No, I'm not overweight or out of shape... I play raquetball and hike 16 miles each saturday up a mountain).

Cheers!

  1. Part of the reason is that we know that if you are not healthy you will scream for the rest of us to give you health care.

  2. h**l, because fatties can't push themselves away from that next double-double, the government might step in an allow fast food restaurants deny you service. Legally. They are working out the details now on such legislation. How do you determine who gets a soft serve cone and who doesn't? Step on a scale? What?  Clearly, something needs to be done and if the people can't or won't do it themselves, then you will get what the government tells you get. If you don't like it, do something about it.  Our rights are slipping away, one by one because we are like sheep and wait for things to be done for us.

Obesity is costing every one millions of dollars a year in health care.

PS: Middle school kids are now at risk of heart disease because of poor diets and no excercise.
