What goes on in Gatar for R & R?

Question

My husband told me he is going to Qatar for R & R, and I was wondering what is he going to be doing there other than resting?

do I get to talk to him?

Can I see him on web cam?

Does he gets to have a good vacation?

How does it work?

Please help, thank you!

Qatar is actually kind of boring, but it is relaxing, its basically an ARMY Club Med, with a 2 beer a night limit, really  they give you tickets and you are limited to 2 beers a night. And yes there is lots of oppurtunity to talk to him, and if he can find a webcam he should be able to set it up. Its definatly a restful vacation, and he will leave where ever he is by helicopter and head to Bahgdad then fly down to Qatar.

Typically you go there on a 4 day pass, not including travel time. People stationed there get the ration tickets, but if your on pass they track your drinks with swiping your ID Card. You can have 4 a night. They have beer or wine. They have a nice USO there with computers and web cams. You can also bring your own as they have wireless access for his laptop.

You can meet up in the morning and sign up for different trips. IE You can choose to go Golfing, do water sports "which is the same as the cruise in which they take you out on the ocean and have some jet skiis that you can go on." Your on a ship during this time and then get to go swimming. Another one is you can go to the mall and check out the local area.

You are not guaranteed any of these but he should be able to do 1 trip. You are prioritized IE day 1 your pretty low, Day 2 your at the top of the list, day three, your in another catigory. So if he does one trip, he could be able to go on standby for another.

Its relaxing there and they have a movie theater "doesnt play new movies". They have bands on weekends. They have a PX and some resteraunts like subway, popyeys, and a chinese food place.

One of the nicest things is they have a pool and a Applebees or something like that I forget. They also have a DQ in the weight room. Now that was good, me eating a bannana split while people were working out.

Gatar, it a muslim country and not a place that will offer GI's any real troublesome activities, if you get my drift.

Hi, I live in Qatar and there is really really really nothing here to do... is is so HOT and the humid here is really high, There is a Few shop in the malls ect but other wise there really isnt anything wrong here....  and some of the people here are very nice....
