Question:

What goes well with teddybears?

My club at school is doing a fundraiser to raise funds, and we got 1000 teddy bears for free! Since homecoming was coming up, we decided to sell these bears as ways of asking out the girl (or the boy - to each her own).

-Do you think this would be a good idea?

-How much should we charge for the bears?

-Should we add anything along with the bears (ex: candy, flowers, etc.)

  1. - Sounds like a fantastic idea, i love teddy bears : ) lol

    - Should probably discuss price with the other members of the club

    - It might be a good idea to have some cards to go along with them that the person could write a little note along with the bear.

  2. Yea, I think that would be a awesome idea.

Since its homecoming and you already have to pay for that, don' t make it like too expensive. Maybe like $3.50 a bear.

You can put mini roses in the teddy bears hand.

  3. Perhaps you could tie a little cheap ribbon around their necks and thread them through little holes (you could punch them yourselves with a hole puncher) to attach them to the bears' necks.  String would also work, but it wouldn't look as classy.

I'd say three dollars?  It depends on how good of a deal you could broker if you want to use the cards--if you buy in bulk, then you can usually have a discount.  Unless the bears are big, then make five or six dollars?  The cheaper, the better, as long as you're making a decent profit.  The less money they have to spend, the more inclined people will be to buy it!

If you want to get really edgy, you could get some candy and make people pay an extra dollar to send candy along with them.  If you sell a lot of them, buy more for the rest of the days of the fundraiser, if you don't then you can always splurge or sell them afterwards!

I think the bears are a great idea, but you should definitely add something else if you want more sales.  Flowers are too "mushy" or sentimental for most guys to feel comfortable with buying when you combine them with teddy bears (imo).  If you do use the card idea, it would be cute and more attractive-looking to attach them to the bear somehow, like I cited earlier.

You could also have an option for "secret sales" if someone wants to buy one without anyone knowing so it can be a surprise for their hopeful date.  You could designate one person in your club to take orders and pass off the bears without most people noticing.  If you do that, put their name, grade, and possibly locker number on the...

Flyers!  I know, all of my suggestions add up, but a few printed pieces of paper with a picture of the finished product on it and some words giving info about the sale couldn't hurt.  Inside the bathrooms, on your club members' lockers, wherever your school lets you hang them up!  The more times people see it, the more times they think of it, the more times they'll have a chance to decide to buy it!

    Best of luck!
