last night my cat (female, 9) was walking around my house and crying so I fed her but she didnt want that, this went on for an hour and a half or so. I finally got up and let her out...this was at about 11 pm so between 1 and 2 am I kept checking for her, opening my front door and calling her and shaking her treat bag. she almost ALWAYS comes to do the door cause I hate having her be outside all night. but she wouldn't come, no signs of her.....so this morning I can't find her either! what could she be doing? she never goes too far from our house...and we live in a neighborhood so theres no chance of her being hit by a car. plus my dad already drove through the neighborhood and didn't see anything. was there something she was upset about so she wanted to go outside and get it? I don't know and Im really worried!

  1. A couple things could have happened.  Maybe there was another cat she wanted to "play" with.

Cats are hunters by nature.  So if she is gone for a few days, dont sweat.  My cat got out (and she is a strictly indoor cat) one time, and a couple days later she was in the back yard beggin for some food.  Most of the time, when your cat gets hungry and cant find anything, they will come home.  Alot of cats when they have an upset stomach will request a let out so they can chew on some grass.  Something to look into is "CAT GRASS"  they sell it at the pet store and its easy to grow.

Hope your kitty comes home soon.

  2. My cat ran away for about a whole weekend and i was worried sick. i almost started crying many times because i missed her soooo much! one sunday my neighbors came home from wherever they had gone, opened their garage door and Willow (my kitty!) came running out.i guess curiosity got the best of her and she investigated in there right B4 my neighbors left and shut the door. she was locked in there and i supose she survived on their cats food. i'm glad to see her now tho. good luck on ur search. hope you find her. find out what happened on the day she disapeared and do some investigation.

  3. This happened to my friend a couple of weeks ago.  Her one-year old female cat went out at night and didn't come back for about two hours.  The cat's brother died a while before, so that might have had something to do with it.  My friend tried everythng, like you have, to get her back, but she came running back suddenly at a completely random time.

Your kitty could be looking for a male cat, or simply on the prowl.  I hope she comes back - good luck looking for her and I hope she returns.  If she doesn't, you might have to contact an animal search team or whatever people use to find their missing cats and dogs, or put up a few posters.

Hope this helped.  Good luck! X

  4. Maybe she is lonely and wants attention? Better yet I bet she is sick and wants to be left alone.Just give her space and she should come back around keep giving it food so it can smell it and still eat good yummy cat food.

  5. My aunt's cat ran away and never same back, and my friends ran away and got hit by a car. Keep looking hard before it's too late!

  6. Hi, As far as i know cats just don't run away.

Cats get lost and can't find there way back home.  I would guess your cat is lonely without her brother and probably went looking for him even thought he's been gone for a while. Or looking for another cat to play with.

You should be out there walking and calling her every chance you get, especially at night when it's quieter. Sometimes if they are lost they can follow your voice back to you..  Put some food and water outside just in case she comes back when your not home.  Please keep looking for her as much as possible  Good luck!

  7. Is your cat Spayed?  Something similar happened to my fathers cat.  She was completly loyal, stayed near the house when let out etc.  But one day started just crying and walking around strangely.  My father finally let it out and she disappeared for 3 days (never before happened.)  When she returend, a few moths later, little kittens were crawling all around.

  8. If you have more than one cat, she may have felt left out and looked for a less crowded place to live.  Or she may simply just going out to find some adventure.  Is your cat neutered or spayed?  She may be pregnant and is looking for a safe place to give birth.  If she is gone longer than two days, go to the ASPCA.  most places will keep cats and dogs for two or three days before deciding to put the to sleep.  Keep looking, or put up signs for a lost cat.  Hope this helps.
