  1. Hello love2ski

Before you buy any set for your daughter , have her hit a few

balls on a driving range to see if she has slices or hooks.

This will help you determine the right driver. However most

beginners should not start with a 10 degree driver as it is too

hard for them. For women, manufactures have all agree to start with a 12 or even 14 degree driver to help them lift the ball.

My opinion based by experience tells me to invest less on clubs for beginners and more on golf lessons(at least one complete course wich has about 5 or 6 lessons of 1 hour each.I also recommend a semi or even private course as golf teacher will spend less time if you are 8 or even 10.Then once

she has a base swing, you will be able to buy the proper set.

Of course for her height have the store cutt the woods 1 inch

and irons 1/2 inch to help her putting the club on a perfect angle. You dont have to buy expensive clubs but a good 431

or 17-4 stainless is recommend for easier maintenance. Also

she does not need a complete set to begin, only a 3 and 5 wood, and 5-7-9-s/w irons plus a putter (wich also will have to be reduce at least 2 inches) because putter should always be

play with extended arms, not bent.

    Have a nice game

    Robert

  2. Before you invest any $$ in clubs, visit a Golf store or Pro Shop at a golf course.  You can be measured for fit.  The brand is not as important, as the design and feel.  Most beginners clubs are 'cavity back', more forgiving.  As for websites, try golfsmith.com and nevadabobs.com.

  3. www.tgw.com is good. Standard womens set will be fine. She is growing, and can be fit down the road.

She is just starting, don't invest too much money.

  4. In reference to your last question that I had answered, Yeah being 5'3" you will need to get them fitted to your size, but in saying that, being only 13 you have at least 5 yrs of growing to do. Growing is the biggest killer for 'fitted' clubs.

Im not sure of what stores are available in the states, but I just seen someone say Nevada Bobs, we have them here in Australia and they are generally pretty good. They will also have your half sets available.

I know your in a small town (same as myself) and yes its hard to get too proper facilities, but if you happen to be in an area that has practise nets, go inside n try a few clubs out :)... Most of the time they can fit them at no extra cost

  5. I disagree you'll need to get them fitted. Most standard sets are made for an average women height which is 5' 4.6".

Most beginner sets now come with wide sole (big bottom of the iron to reduce getting the club stuck in the ground) cavity back (makes the ball flight better on mis-hits) and a large drive 460cc (Big = more confidence, easier* to hit).

I'd look for a set of Dunlop or Wilson clubs on Ebay. If you're really set on a store try glofsmith.com or tgw.com.

Don't spend a lot of money on the first set of clubs after the first couple years she'll know what she doesn't do well and then she can have clubs fit to correct these errors...

    Hope this helps...

  6. In my opinion, yes i am a LADY, i do not think she needs to get fit. Actually DONT get them fit. She will soon grow out of the clubs and will need new ones.. Say bye bye to your money. As a beginner, i started when i was around 14, I played with a set of cobra gravity backs, they were new around that time. I would suggest a graphite shaft because they are light and flexible enough for her young age. If she progresses then she should move up to steel, but i doubt that will happen unless she plays highschool golf.  Golf Galaxy, where i buy my clubs from, has very cheap prices for junior clubs, they have a website

    www.golfgalaxy.com

You can get them shipped to you depending on where you live....

I hope that helps, if all else fails , go for walmart, they have good cheap junior sets ( that are still appropriate and functioning.)
