What good does the Non-Aligned movement serve for India now?

It has already served it's purpose and got India a good nuclear deal but the left parties continue to harp on it. Why should India remain non-aligned? The other arab members don't do any special favours for India and are always pro Pakistan. They always think in terms of Hindu-Muslim. Infact they treat Indian workers in their countries poorly! Are people in India not tired of depending on Invertors and Generators for electricity? Are people not tired of paying almost Rs. 12 per unit to generate electricity from diesel etc? The Nuclear deal would solve such problems and help India generate cheap, clean energy.

after collapse of soviet union, non alignment as such has no meaning. instead what is to be stressed is independent foreign policy based on international justice, national interest and overall interests of our sub continent and continent.
