Everyone knows the U.N. couldn't disarm a 9 year old terrorizing the neighborhood with a squirt gun. WE, the U.S. have to remove murderous dictators, We donate food, people still starve because governments, many represented in the U.N., deny it to their own people, we have to give money to fight AIDS and disease outbreaks, WE show up to help even our enemies, in time of disaster. What exactly does the U.N. do? How is their track record compared to the U.S..?

  1. None.  Most of us figured that out a few years ago.  They only acomplish what the US and other free world countries do then the UN grabs claim for the accomplishment.

We need to send the UN to a third world country where their diplomats can get some hands on experience instead of sitting in a cushy chair and bemoaning the fact the US hasn't solved  a problem the UN is facing.

  2. Before I answer your questions many countries in the UN donate food as well as provide soldiers to troubled areas.  It is true that many countries in the UN do hurt their own people but these general are countries who entered the UN a long time ago.

    What the UN does:

The purposes of the United Nations, as set forth in the Charter, are to maintain international peace and security; to develop friendly relations among nations; to cooperate in solving international economic, social, cultural and humanitarian problems and in promoting respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms; and to be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations in attaining these ends.

Partial Track Record of the UN:

    Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (1968)

Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (1996) and treaties establishing nuclear-free zones.

Prohibiting the development, production and stockpiling of chemical weapons (1992) and bacteriological weapons (1972); ban nuclear weapons from the seabed and ocean floor (1971) and outer space (1967); and ban or restrict other types of weapons.

By February 2005, 144 countries had become parties to the 1997 Ottawa Convention outlawing landmines.

When has the USA ever helped out its enemies?

  3. Some day the UN Building will be a good place for a Bonfire, until then they're pretty much useless. They can't even keep their own Peacekeepers from raping the women in every country they go to,yet they want to rule the world. Want to see what the World would look like if it was run by the UN,go to Africa.

  4. it gives a lot of losers a job, most of the corrupt officers were disidents in third world countries before hooking up with the u.n.

  5. What is good for the U.N.?  Dissolving it would be good.

The President of the United Nations Council on Human Rights was appointed to the U.N. by a government with a long and colorful history of torture and ruthless political repression.
