Considering doing a degree in physics starting next year or year after, but I am unsure what it can lead to e.g. city jobs (london)...

  1. Hey there,

I agree with ecrunner. Also, I've known quite a few folks that graduated with Physics degrees, and 2 specific friends got jobs at Lorrel Space Systems as QA Operations Engineers (and had roles in mission controls for launching satellites). There are plenty of other opportunities as well, such as medical devices engineering (imagine how the electron microscope works or oncology radiology devices).

    Good luck!

  3. A lot of people think that only certain majors get the good jobs. I graduated as an English major and while everyone told me the only option I have for a job is to teach, I am happily doing other stuff that utilizes the major, but is allowing me to venture into other fields as well. With a Physics major, you have many more options that English and you can pretty much dream up any job you think you can do.... one thing I found is this online contest where you dream up a job and get the chance to win it for a day. Dream up something with Physics and see where it goes... http://tinyurl.com/65tyxh
