Sites and attractions for tourist?? Why are they interesting?

Peru is one of the most fantastic destinations. It has 3 main regions: Costa (coast), sierra (mountains) and selva (jungle).

The coast is very arid but is home to many archeological sites: Caral (oldest civilization in the Americas), Sipán, Sicán, Moche, Paracas, Nazca (plus you get to see the Nazca lines). Lima the capital city is an excellent gourmet destination; you can go birdwatching just north of Lima and the northern beaches offer great waves for surfing. Talking of sports, Peru is a great destination for extreme sports!

The Andean mountains have the most splendid landscapes and is home to ancient Inca Empire, you can go to Cuzco and visit all the ruins including Machu Picchu (recently elected one of the new 7 wonders), there's a famous route call the"Inca trail" in which you can go hiking from Cuzco to Machu Picchu. Don`t miss Choquequirao (some say it even eclipses Machu Picchu). There´s also Arequipa a very beautifull colonial city from where you can go to the Colca Canyon (one of the world's deepest). And Puno with lake Titicaca (world's highest navigable lake) and home to many archeological sites. Also go to Kuelap (a fortress built near the amazon rainforest).

The Amazon rainforest and the Manu National Reserve are amazing, you can stay at a lodge with your room at the trees canopy, see an incredible variety of wildlife (vast variety of unclassified species), go to a butterfly farm, try to catch a pirahna... simply amazing!
