  1. Try Diwana Bhel Poori in Drummond Street, near Euston station.  It has superb Guerati vegetarian food e.g. bhel poori, aloo papri chat and great samosas, and yet it is hard to spend £10 a head.  There are a cluster of places like this in Drummond Street, though Diwana is the best of the bunch.

Also Lahore Kebab House in Whitechapel does great tandoori dishes; it is quite basic but also cheap.

Another idea is Rasa Samudra in Charlotte Street, which does superb Keralan food (vegetarian and seafood here).

Contact details and reviews of various alternative ideas are on my web site below.

  2. i would recommend wagamama it is good for noodles, rice dishes and soup.

  3. Wagamama for noodles etc.

the Hari Krisha place in soho square is cheap and veggie.

look for the thai and chinese veggie/vegan all you can eat buffet places too, there's a couple south of soho square and one in st martin's lane.

for curry, try the India Club on the Strand. where the Strand Intercontinental hotel is.

Spaghetti House is good for Italian... and Ponti's Caffe does good food as well as the best coffee.

Matilda's on Lexington st, soho is a good veggie place, but with snotty staff (at times).

for fast food, Red Veg in soho does great veg burgers and stuff.

Gaby's on lower Charing Cross Rd (near leicester square) is a firm fave for many londoners. good for falafel, etc.

    good luck.

  4. Oh what a lovely problem to have...

www.london-eating.co.uk has excellent reviews written by the public- what I particularly like is that the tone and manner of a particular author will usually give me an idea as to whether I'd agree with them or not.

  5. mcdonalds.or kebab place.

  6. There is a good noodle bar in Victoria (on Vauxhall Bridge Road) called Noodle Noodle which does all of what you've asked for.  It's extremely tasty, food is cheap and come in huge portions, they do halal chicken and the staff is friendly.
