I'm a Junior this year and I've starting to panic about my future career. There are a few things I'm interested in (mainly Anthropology, specifically Archaeology), but I don't know if I want to do that for the rest of my life. My question is How did you get interested in your career, and how did you ultimately decided to pursue that career? Do you wish you could go back to school and do something else? Do you have any advice for someone struggling to figure out what they want to do?

Thanks for your answers in advance!

  1. I need a job that paid more and this offered an opportunity, as the job I wanted in college didn;t want me

  2. My Great Grandfather was a soldier, so was my Grandfather. My father was a WW2 fighter pilot, his brothers fought in Korea and Vietnam. Both my older brothers joined the army. At 17 my father dropped a bundle of paperwork in front of me at the dinner table one night. He looked at me and said " Army, Navy or Airforce, pick one and fill it out. I've already signed consent on all 3 as you're a minor".

I picked the army and 20 something years later I don't regret a thing.
