What government grants would be available to a small business that manufactures energy efficient homes?

I've been researching this for a while now, and can't find what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know anywhere I could find a list of available grants?

I don't know where you can find such a list - did you check http://www.grants.gov yet?

Another resource that could help you is the U.S. Green Building Council - http://www.usgbc.org/ which migh tprovide some addition leads for your research.

Congratulations on building with a conscience!

I don't know of any specific ones, but I'd suggest you start talking to the folks at City Hall. These days, environmentally friendly and energy-efficient are very HOT words, so there MUST be programs that encourage companies to provide this kind of option!

Don't get discouraged if the first person you speak to has no clue - you can always ask, "is there someone who specialises in energy-efficient buildings? Maybe a department? How about the department who gives rebates for buying energy-efficient appliances?", etc.

And each time you meet someone, thank them for their help and again ask if they have pointers to other people you can speak to!

Here in Canada, I know I've heard of builders receiving all kinds of awards for energy efficient buildings - I suspect the same is true around the world today!
