  1. If you don't work, or work very little, you may qualify for welfare or at least food stamps.  Also, if you are on welfare, you will get free child care or if not, you still can get free or reduced childcare from the country, where I live they call it Children's Home Society, maybe its the same where you are.

Go to the HUD website and either apply for section 8 or low income apartments.  Fill out the fafsa for school and make sure you talk to your financial aid office to be sure you are getting all the grants you are eligible for.  Also, where I live we have a program at school called EOPs and you may qualify and they will give book vouchers, and bus passes/gas vouchers.  Also, your school should have a re-entry program which supposed to be for adults that return to school after a break, but sometimes their are funds for single parents.  Also, apply for scholarships.

Any other help call 2-1-1 from a land line.  They can help with diapers, formula, food, clothes, rental or security deposit and utility assistance, gas vouchers, etc

  2. I know that were I live if you are a full time student you get childcare assistance.  But as soon as you graduate and you are not a full time student anymore you assistant is gone.  But you can also apply for foodstamps and WIC(Women and Children).  You can also apply for Medicaid.  You can also apply for some government grants for school also.  Check with your local Department of children and family services department. Sometimes you can get housing assistance. Here is a website to help with some things.  But do not forgot to contact your local Department of Children and Family Services (DEFACS).

  3. You can go to the state welfare office and get food stamps, cash assistance, and child care depending on your income.

  4. WIC is great, but there are other resources. If you are in need of free medical inurance, fill out an application for Medicaid online on the AHCA (agency for healthcare administration). Or you can go to your local Department of Children and Families or Health Department for an in-person interview.

Both the website and the DCF will offer applications for "Foodstamps", which is like a credit card you swipe at any grocery store and it pays for all the food/drinks/snacks you'll need.

They also offer cash assistance if you do not have a job, but there are some extra steps to attaining that, a social worker can give you all the information you need.

Also, have you filed for child support? If not, the Dep. of Children and Families also offers a quicker, free way to file.

  5. Do you mean scholarships for school, or money for food? Because i have suggestions for both!

for school: go to www.fastweb.com this site has a ton of scholarships and they have you create a profile, so the scholarships are tailored for you!

for money for food etc: there are food stamps, which you see AFS for. these range from giving you money for food, or it could be a cash card, which you can spend on food and/or other care items.

  6. www.fastweb.com for college scholarships and www.fasfa.gov for pell and grants. Your school may even offer assistance to singel mothers.

Once you get caught up in the government systems like food stamps, cash assistance and section 8 housing getting out is hard. Also if you plan to go to school full time you may not qualify for a lot of government help. The gov doesn't help students out a lot.
