What grade should i be in?

Ummm... I am 12 almost 13 on November 20, and i am going into 6th grade... My mom wanted to keep me back a couple grades (stupid). she said if i can get good grades this year i might be able to skip grades to go to where i am supposed to be... next year what grade shou;d i be in??

ages 12-13 are 7th graders, so you 're already back one grade,so i don't think that you'll be needing to skip back a couple of grades, also if you're living in the US, the government has to approve you to skip a grade because of the WASL testing. so , it is possible

wel first of all if you are in 6th grade , do not jump to ninth grade go to eight

Usually a school won't hold a child back without a good reason. If you are able to do the work, there is no reason you shouldn't be going into 7th or 8th grade this year.

Many families choose to start a child a year later in better prep for kindergarten, but unless there are extenuating circumstances and really good reasons, I think it does more harm than good to hold a child back.

I would highly suggest that you speak to your school counselor and see what they can do to help you obtain proper placement.
