  1. archery or firearm? Modern or black powder? need more info in order to give a good answer.

    Shoot safe

  2. WOW! What a broad question.

To answer it correctly we would need to know what cartridge you are referring to and what the barrel length of your firearm is. It would also help to know where you are located as whitetails in the south are a lot smaller than in the north. A northern white tail might go as much as 300lbs, whereas I have heard in Texas they might top out at 100lbs

The longer I hunt, the more I realize that most people use MUCH too much weapon to hunt whitetail. I am currently using a 308 shooting a 110gr soft tip bullet loaded fairly light and am still not recovering bullets, they go in one side and right out the other. Ideally the bullet enters and doesn't come out, this means that it dispersed all of its energy inside the body cavity and maximum trauma was caused given the round.

  3. I use 125 grain 2 blade glue on broadheads for deer using a recurve bow

  4. Q:  what grain is best for whitetail

A:  Grain?  I use corn in the deer feeders.  Other people use sorghum.

What bullet weight is best for deer?  I use 120 grain Remington soft point in my .25-06.  This year I've switched to Winchester 115 grain Silvertips.
