What grip did mr, Ken Rosewall use?

who can tell me australian tennis star ken rosewall's grip for both forehand & backhand? in my thinking, there's big difference between his & that used by most of the players right now.

  1. From memory, Ken Rosewall used an Eastern grip, very low down on the racquet for his backhand, and switched to a Continental grip for his forehand. This helped with the wonderful slice he could impart.

    I think Roger Federer uses a similar grip?

    Other modern players seem to prefer the Western grip, enabling them to impart the extraordinary topspin we see today.

    As an aside, I can remember watching Rosewall play Rod Laver at White City one night in the 1960's in a match where the World Amateur Champion (Laver) played the World Professional Champion (Rosewall) for the first time. Rosewall won comfortably in straight sets.

    The night before, Hoad had beaten Laver in 4 sets.
