Question:

What grip/headsize for my tennis racquet?

I played with a prince thundercloud one time and it felt AMAZING, but I've no idea what grip and head sizes to order. I'm a girl if that makes any difference? It comes in the following grip/headsizes:

1/8

1/4

3/8

1/2

5/8

I don't know what the size was on the one that I played with... hmmm. And if anyone thinks that a different racquet is superior, do tell! I'm trying to find some backups before I go for college tennis.

  1. Since your a girl (not anything against girls), your grip size is based on the size of your hand. 1/8 - 1/4 is recommended for  small hands, 3/8, 1/2, and 5/8 are for medium to larger hands. You most likely would need 1/4 to 1/2. And head size most likely 3/8 to 5/8. By the way a good playing racket would be a Prince O3 hybrid shark or O3 white. Search for O3's that suit your style, after all we all have different qualities that we like in a racket so go for whatever you think is best for you.

  2. there are two ways to find your grip size, but assuming that you don't have access to all the sizes you might have to just measure your palm with a ruler.

and I don't think the thundercloud comes in any other headsizes aside from the 110 inches. You should check out the Volkl DNX 2 Attiva - I held it a couple times and it was really lightweight and evenly balanced. Very similar to the ThunderCloud. Just look for rackets that have a lighter head and larger head (105+ inches).
