What grows in pea gravel??

what grows in pea gravel that isn't weeds?

I'm looking for some kind of a shrub to grow.

How deep is the pea gravel?  There has to be soil under there.  Clear away some of the gravel and plant whatever you want in the soil.  Once the shrub is up and doing well you can move the gravel back around it, or use a metal or vinyl border around it.

If combined with sparing parts of peat and sand, pea gravel makes an excellent planting medium for alpine and rock garden plants, including the dwarf shrubs. I used it for years.
