  1. 311's "I'll Be Here Awhile" is pretty easy. Not sure if that's your  thing though.

I don't sing, so this info is from a friend who does, but I'm sure it works:

Always, always warm up your vocal chords before singing. If you don't, you'll strain them and that will make it worse.  There are a bunch of warm-up techniques.  One is to hum, changing pitch from low to high.  Another is to blow air past your lips so they vibrate (sort of like if you were making the noise a horse makes).  I'm sure there are many more exercises, but these are just to start.

  2. Elvis or Beatle songs are always good - lot of simple chord play. Rolling Stones are always pretty good starts.

intermediate I recommend: Led Zeppelin - try Whole lotta love. or Ramble on (which girls really love); the ocean, or kashmir

    Also try Nirvana or AcDc

Advanced: I recommend Led Zeppelin's Achilles Last Stand, or When the Levee Breaks,

    Van Halen, Metallica, Green Day

The reason I like led zeppelin a lot is cuz it allows you to practise improvisations, which is the bread and butter of a lead guitarist.

Vocals - sorry no my area.
