  1. marlin model 60 .22 but the only way u could shoot one is if u live out of the city limits and in a  a non urban area

  2. 22s are not ideally suited for shooting birds

The projectile will travel a very long distance when fired at the angle necessary to shoot at birds

    Look into a 410 shotgun

A used single shot is well within your price range and will leave you money for ammo

  3. first off-.22's are a no-no (unless you are 1,000 ft from the nearest house, then it is ok). if i were you, i'd go with the .17 fireball or a .17 mach 2. check your local pawn shops. or you can check Wal-mart; they carry all kinds of high-powered pellet guns and, preferably, get one with a scope. if it doesn't come with a scope, pick up a Tasco 4x32. it's a great scope for anything up to a .22 rifle, but beyond that, the cross hairs inside will break due to higher recoil. i have a Beeman break-barrel pellet gun (.177 cal.) that i've had for probably 7 or 8 years and haven't had any problems out of it yet. you can pick one up at Wal-mart for about $150 and it comes with a scope AND an extra .22 cal pellet barrel. i've never had a .22 caliber pellet gun before, but i bet it does as much damage as a .22 rifle without the noise. for the extra price, i'm sure it's worth it.

  4. I would suggest getting what I have for plinking. A Winchester Model 67A in used, but usable condition. It's a collectible, it's accurate (my best grouping at 50 feet all the bullet holes were touching, open sight on a table though), and a "good enough" condition one should only run you about $100, maybe $120. They are a single shot bolt action .22 LR that you need to pull the hammer back on every time. Gun broker has them, and I see the "good enough" ones like I mentioned go for less than $100, sometimes even $75 for one that would work just fine (damage to the stock, bluing coming off, but nothing that would hinder the gun from working or cause it to be a hazard to use).

Hope that you find what you're looking for. Sorry if this is a little long winded.

  5. For $110, your choices of firearm are pretty limited. And you may not be able to use the gun legally since many cities/towns/villages ban the use of firearms inside their limits.

You could probably find a used .22 rifle for that at your local gun shop or swap meet. If you go that route, you'll probably wind up getting either a bolt action (like the Savage MkII or an older comparable gun)  or a semi-automatic rifle (like the Marlin model 60). Regardless of what you get, if you want to safely use it to hunt birds, you'll need to buy .22 birdshot loads since solid/hollow-point loads can travel more than a mile and remain lethal at that distance if you're shooting at things in a tree and miss. On the ground that's less of an issue, but you still have to worry about the bullet traveling for a considerable distance. Even with birdshot always make sure of your target and backstop (what's behind the target).

You could also probably find a break-action, single-shot, shotgun (in any number of gauges from 12 to .410) at a local gun shop/swap meet. However the legal issues with a .22 are the same with a shotgun. So are the safety issues since shot from a shotgun can easily travel for several hundred yards and remain dangerous/fatal. Again always make sure of your target and backstop (what's behind the target).

Your airgun options are better, though you need to check your state's hunting regulations to make sure its legal to use airguns on the birds you'll be shooting; and city/town/villages ordinances to make sure you can shoot them legally where you live.

Probably your best bet would be a .177 caliber pneumatic rifle, like the Daisy 880 (its cheap but it works most of the time) Crossman 760 (I know... its a smoothbore), Crossman 660, or Crossman 2100. All of those retail for well under your price limit and should have enough energy for birds at ranges you should realistically be taking shots at birds.

If you're willing to spend all of your money you could probably find a spring piston (break barrel) air rifle in .177 caliber (such as the Crossman Storm XT or Crossman Phantom 1000x) that would be much more powerful due to a higher muzzle velocity.

Regardless of what you get you'll need to be careful and always make sure of your target and backstop (what's behind the target). You also need to practice enough that you are confident you can hit your target in its vital areas and humanely kill it.

  6. be careful about shooting .22 in your yard as it would easily kill a neighbor! Just browse walmart for cheap .22 bolt actions and bb guns. Try a 760 pumpmaster. They're common, cheap, and with ten pumps they're easily powerful enough to kill squirrels. ( aim for head but chest works ) Believe me, they're cheap but i've had mine for like six years and it works fine.

  7. If you want to shoot birds you don't want a .22 because thats considered a real gun, so if you get caught then BIG *** TROUBLE. But the best BB gun to shoot birds with is a pump air rifle. You can find at wal mart for like $35. Those can shoot at least 750fps  and that should put a hole through a bird.

  8. an extremely unreliable one or mabey you might want to look for one in a pawn shop or something like that.

  9. Check out gunbroker.com. It is an Ebay for firearms and may have what you are looking for. Your best bet though is to save up your money do some research and the perfect fit.

  10. Water pistol, eat what you shoot.

  11. i hate birds i shoot birds like crows and chickidease with the benjiman 392 it is a .22 caliber air rifle that shoots 675 fps or you can get the 397 witch is a 177 caliber version of the gun that shoots 800 fps but wont have the nock down power as the 22 caliber airgun so you wont beable to shoot squirels in the body with one shot o the gun cost 135 but its worth it o and what ever you DO NOT BUY THE CROSSMAN STORM XT OR EVEN THE QUEST THEY  BREAK EASILY THEY ARE A VERY CHEAP MADE GUN.DO NOT BUY THE XT IT SUCKS

O KID MAKE SHURE YOU SHOOT EVERY BIRD IN TOWN GOOD LUCK.

  12. (.22 are real guns)

What you need is a pellet gun. At Wal-Mart they more than likely have a

Crosman Storm XT (or sometimes a "Quest") .117 Cal. Break-Barrel Pellet gun.

When you buy it its only $99.99. Get some pellets. The best kind for you to get is a kind that says

    .177 cal.    AND  hollow-points.

Hollow point pellets work best ' cause the tip is hollow. So when hit it expands on impact creating a larger wound, which means bye-bye birdie.

(Remember, the gun comes with a scope. Whenever you put the scope on you HAVE to "sight" it in. So you dont miss. )
