For the mean time drug traffickers are operating with impunity and trafficking cocaine from Colombia via Venezuela, via Cuba to Florida, USA. They are fighting with drug traffickers and mafia mobs operating in the Pacific west coast ( Mexican, Colombian, Italian and Russian mafias)!

Heroin and Marijuana from Mexico and Afghanistan

Dope from Canada, Nepal or Jamaica

Meth, crystal and other synthetic drugs made in USA

Ecstasy from Netherlands

Chinese opium, etc etc etc...

Made Osama Bin Laden rich beyond belief, he's had control of Heroin smuggling for quite some time, and has been able to finance his arms operation, he gets money from the states and buys weapons off russian gun runners.

For a person on the street, the main impact of the "drug war" is to keep the black market healthy and strong, such that the prices of street drugs keeps declining while the potency keeps going up. In effect, the "war on drugs" has been the junkies' best friend!

The title itself is laughable: War on Drugs.  I mean, you can't fight with inanimate objects.   Instead, they use it as a shield to cover up who the real war is on: minorities caught up in a cycle of hopelessness due to years of repression.
