What hair cut and/or colors would you suggest?

Go a auburn, brown color.

I'd suggest going lighter, perhaps even to a nordic blonde. You have the right skin tone to even get funky and go pink if you wanted to.

Please make sure you go to a top salon and pay the top dollar for an excellent stylist who specializes in color. For example, do you know who has won hairdresser of the year in your area for the past several years? Do you know who styles most of the hair in say, Vogue or Harpers? These are where you should be looking. Don't be afraid of these people. They are usually great. These people know what will work with your face and skin tone and it's worth paying for their knowledge. I've had some horrid hair disasters and sometimes there really is no going back from them unless you really love hats.

In going lighter, if you don't like it, you can have the option of going darker again. But I actually think with your complexion that you'd look great with blonde hair or even pink!

I think you look very nice as is, i really like the layers in your hair and the bangs look nice. For an updated look maybe some sideswept bangs, they always frame the face very nicely. The color looks good i would not stray too far but i think an auburn color would look pretty:
