Do they sort out the trash ?

If not WHY not? there are machines at factories that make....things that kick out an item because it's under weight of it's not perfect, why not have them at trash centers to kick out a recycle product and then they can turn the rest of the trash into compost. saves the planet and cities economy....by selling the compost.

  1. Hi, in response to your question I think I can help. My understanding is that each city has different recycling facilities & ways in which waste is recycled. This is determined by the local council. Certain councils have better facilities than others so they are able to recycle alot more waste than those who do not. For example, some recycling plants can recycle cardboard & plastics where others cannot due to the equipment they use. The simple answer to your question is that if recycling does not exist in a city, then waste is taken directly to landfill. Each city has very limited resources & to recycle other cities waste would be an impossibility. let's hope the government grants councils with more money for more of these crucial facilities.

  2. It all gets pushed in to the landfill.

Recycling centers sort, but "trash centers" do not.

The cost of sorting through bajillions of pounds of garbage would be enormous and that would be passed on to all of us.  Selling compost, which few would buy, would hardly offset the cost at all.
