What happen if you lost everything in natural disaster?

what happen if you lost everything in natural disaster, insurance wont cover at all, so you become broke from rich in a instant

this havent happen to me yet, but it just matter of time

I buy insurance for likely events.  Those along the Mississippi and in New Orleans should have had insurance or lived elsewhere.  Most insurance will cover dwellings and contents and even temporary housing.  FEMA has cash for short term needs and even provided housing for those who had no insurance.  If you live in Tornado areas , near wildlands where fire may be likely or in earthquake zones you need to be prepared.  That includes insurance and plans for  what to do if disaster strikes.

Depends on the type of disaster. I'm used to being...well, not wealthy, let's just say. And I know how to live off the land. My family and I will survive. I will adapt easily, as soon as I have a decent shelter constructed.

No insurance hmmm? Some seem to think that if you have insurance you're "protected". Many of those in New Orleans *did* have insurance. You know, if you have a mortgage on your home, the mortgage co. or bank requires you to have insurance. HOWEVER, homeowner's insurance DOES NOT cover flood damage.  Better READ YOUR POLICY if you're expecting a payout after a floodout. Even some homeowners who did have flood insurance got the shaft. NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program and Homeowner's Insurance Cos. wanted to bat the responsibility back and forth like a volleyball. Matter of fact, I think that game is still going on for a few folks in south Louisiana and south Miss.
