What happen one gpa, when they removed d's?

i have gpa of 2.79 and this with a's,b's,c's,very little d's. would that bring my gpa up a point or would it stay the same ?

  1. If the D grades were removed, your GPA would be higher.

    A GPA is determined this way:

    4.0 A

    3.7 A-

    3.3 B+

    3.0 B

    2.7 B-

    2.3 C+

    2.0 C

    1.7 C-

    1.3 D+

    1.0 D

    0.7 D-

    Multiply the number of hours you have in a course times the number of points given for the grades you have in that course.  For instance, a three-hour course with a grade of B- would be 3 x 2.7 = 8.1.

    Then, add up all the hours and all of the points. (For the example above you would include 3 hours and 8.1 points.) Divide the number of points by the number of hours and you will have your GPA.
