What happen to Pepper Martin in the years 1941, 1942, and 1943?

Is this a serious question??? how old are you sportsfan24?? baseball players used to be heroes until they had a union to represent them and become filthy rich, spoiled citizens.  If their country called, they were there, and many of those players had jobs in the offseason just so they could support their family. oh how the times have changed!  could you see a player leaving his team and this country to fight in iraq??
