What happen to royal families that were overthrowed by revolutions and the such but werent killed such several royal families from countries in europe and africa did they all just get kicked out there countries, families banned from ever coming back or were they eventually murdered.

  2. The Napoleonic wars threw many families off of their thrones in Europe.  Many of these royals used their stature to marry well.  

  3. I'm not sure about the answer regarding paying extra taxes in France to keep an aristocratic title. The truth is that the French Republic does not recognize any nobility title at all.  

  4. Many of the old Royal families from Europe,are living in exile,Some in England.I think the Russian imperial family or rather,what is left of it,is in america.One or two of them are even trying to return to their country of birth.

    Many French aristocrats have good-paying jobs as well and pay extra taxes to use their royal or aristocratic titles as honorifics.
